Dr. Shah moved to Fort Myers in 2001 after completing his fellowship in Boston, MA and has been providing services to patients of Southwest Florida since that time. He founded Advanced Radiology Imaging Associates, LLC (ARIA), which began providing services in Fort Myers in December 2005, specializing in Musculoskeletal radiology and MRI. Dr. Shah serves as Medical Director of ARIA’s new multimodality diagnostic imaging center located across from the Gulf Coast Hospital campus of the Lee Memorial Health System. ARIA is now ACR accredited in MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine and Mammography.
The American College of Radiology has awarded Advanced Radiology Imaging Associates accreditation in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). The ACR awards this to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation of the practice. Evaluations are conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in their field.
They assess the qualifications of the personnel and the adequacy of the facility equipment. The surveyors report their findings to the ACR's Committee on Accreditation, which subsequently provides the practice with a comprehensive report.
The ACR is a national organization serving more than 32,000 diagnostic and interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, and nuclear medicine and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology and the delivery of comprehensive health care services.
